"(SIC)MONIC  IS  HEAVY  ROCK  AT  IT'S   BEST!"
- BILLBOARD

 "Inovative, heavy, good direction"
- WHISKY A GOGO

(sic)monic 5 pieces of hardcore metal-heads hail from USA. Their music shift from Progressive metal, to hard rock, to death metal. so it’s hard to classify them. The best classification I came up with was “Hardcore Metal”. This album is a destructive force. I haven’t heard about this band before so I was curious to hear few tracks. I heard old tracks released by this band, I was overwhelmed with their energy and their talents and drifted more with their musical guts. You can easily figure out about their guts in their own musical approach. It’s different and very daring. But to be honest, I prefer this new album other than the previous one. This is one is heavier and more hardcore-er. In each track you would find a bit taste from everything, but you won’t find a song free of their distractive musical-force. My favourite tracks are “Till the morning” and “Oxygen”. Every time I hear the beginning of each track, I find something different. They are totally unpredictable.

SICMONIC
"Somnambulist"

# PER CHI ASCOLTA: Extreme Metal.
What do you want me to tell you of a band that I discovered I simply browsing the web and advising the owner dell'Aural Music? For me they are simply amazing, but I will try to highlight the lights and shadows of this CD, which originally came out for the Phoenix Showcase Entertainment in early 2009, the always careful Aural Music released for the European market, among other things with 4 bonus tracks. The attack is carried out "To the Fiendz" arrembante song in which we find all the elements which constitute the "Sicmonic" sound: rhythmic but devastating hyper-melodic, continuous changes of time, clean and growl vocals, bursts of madness, for what is my favorite song. The subsequent "Till the Morning Light" shows the alternative side of the band and tribal American, with influences stemming from Ill Nino and System of a Down, but from these sounds expand our concept of alternative music, building a phenomenal song , a sort of ballad extreme, with the warm voice of Taylor Hession, real strength of the combo of Phoenix, yelling like a madman into the microphone, then the panic so melancholy guitar lines and heavily laden with pathos .. I repeat, is great and also the title track confirms my words while showing a little attitude 'more post hardcore, as well as the subsequent "Illumination", savage and brutal song from the apocalyptic mood, a ride into the bowels of the earth. Just listening to "Somnambulist" you can understand what he is talking about and what emotions will be able to release this record was a long, maybe since "Toxicity" by SOAD, who felt something so exciting in this area. Perhaps there may be things that will turn up their nose to the extreme music purists, the kind of rap vocals to the limit in some pieces, but I guarantee that violence will find it here than in a hard brutal death, only that it is beautiful that violence is not an end in itself, but of controlled fury, thanks to airy melodic openings, or use of violin (it that's right, a violin that sounds kind!) that plays a pivotal role in "Just How Far Down Do You Want to Go? "or the mad final entrusted to" Devil Went Down to Georgia ". Maybe you'll diabetes listening to "Requiem", but after the onslaught of the first track, I guarantee that a respite, albeit smelenso, but with great emotional stress, there is everything, then the voice of Taylor on quell'arpeggio that will delight ... Just enough time for a breath of fresh air and our return to split the bone with another set of songs, maybe not so brilliant as the first, but that nevertheless prove interesting, for that their blend of music and extreme amounts of groove industry. With regard to the bonus tracks is actually 4 tracks extrapolated from the ACT's debut in Arizona, "Look to the Skies," which still show the more hardcore side of the five pieces. I Sicmonic are a true force of nature, rich in talent and bright ideas, try to believe! (Francesco Scarci)

New Metal

(SIC) monic are a five-member troupe from Arizona, which put simply is washed with all waters. They are not only professional and agile on their instruments to work, but obviously very open-minded and experimental metal fans. In any case, there are no night-caps, which run around at night and know nothing about it the next morning. What is under the roof of her debut album "Somnambulist" meet together, is quite an exciting mixture of different metal styles and other influences. Originally published as early as 2009 on its own, it was by the Italian label Aural Music re-released and packed just yet, with four additional songs.

The entry into the album with "To The Fiendz ..." is initially vigorous, double bass, blasts, screams and mechanical riffs pave his way. But come soon, the melodic rear into play, "Till The Morning Light" strikes conciliatory, harmonious sounds with acoustic sounds and percussion. Especially the often broad melodies and atmospheric moments that work towards (SIC) monic in their songs that dominate the entire album and the style of the band. "Illumination" and "Of Blood And Grace" are exemplary of the change between the quieter, more intense and violent stomping Parts outliers.
The main thrust is, of course, Metal, enriched with elements of thrash and nu metal and bonds from the progressive sector. A very modern mixture, which also further enriched by alternative sounds and folk influences are audible. If songs like "Just How Far Down Do You Want To Go?" again with his quick chant, the Thrash breaker "Acidic Epiphanies", "Requiem" with his character, or the folk-rock folk song "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" on a single album, it almost sounds like a pile-up with POD, Nonpoint and Skyclad.

(SIC) monic succeeds, to bring in the diversity of style is consistency and continuity, so that we as listeners will not eventually overwhelmed by a confusing welter of musical quotations. "Somnambulist" is none of these pseudomodern works that are the bottom line only to high-gloss polished old silver, but also proves its own touch of freshness, versatility, proficiency - and is simply different.

(Sic)Monic - Somnambulist
Aural Music, 2010

Oncategoriseerbaar, call (Sic) Monic itself. And based on Somnabulist can I completely agree there. We hear all sorts of things come from hardcore to heavy metal and screamo, jazzy pieces, death metal and power metal. I can not name to stick, I love it but some references to other bands and a cautiously positive opinion.

Want (Sic) Monic's cute working on this album! The five men from Arizona can obviously play and production they have for each other. Good, clean strong vocals, interspersed with screams and solid-like Pain of Salvation (semi)-rap pieces. Gegrunt is there, but that is a little disappointing. Many melodic leads, but also regularly banging, typical U.S. math core / screamo-pieces in between. On the side I think the melodic metal band sometimes like Nevermore and Pain of Salvation, the rag-nice-by-side makes me think of a band like Within the Ruins, and when they finally go for a ballad like Requiem seems POD again. As a bouncer I throw another name like System of a Down against it and then everyone has an idea right? Right?

I did my best: try this if you pull the above bands are dirty and not what nu-metal at the beginning of 2010. That is, strictly speaking this album came out last year. But since then some people in the house, and the album is now tinkering with a label is placed behind again, I count (Sic) Monic simply note in the race for the best newcomer of the year

(Sic)Monic, a band from Phoenix, Arizona, consists of well-learned musicians. They are familiar with a lot of different genres and they are proud to let their music be influenced by all these styles. Mainly you could describe it as progressive death metal, but there are too many links to fusion, jazz, heavy metal and melodic hardcore to categorise them under only one genre. The songs are built in layers, which you can hear if you listen to the album a few times. As seen on YouTube, (Sic)Monic don’t just stand there and play, they really get the most out of their stage performance.

The first song is a rapid, tempo-switching and technical song; the next one is more clean and mid-tempo. These two songs set the line for how the tracks follow each other. But instead of repeating themselves, the band brings originality in each song. They even have the guts to put some monster ballads on the album (Requiem, Paradiseum). The songs that most appealed to me were the opening track "To the Friendz…" and "Illumination".

They close their album with a perfect mix of all of their technical skills showed in previous songs.

Afterwards, the listener is treated to four bonus tracks which stay in the same area as the music heard earlier. "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" finishes ‘Somnambulist’ with a happy country tune mixed with the metal (Sic)Monic has brought us for over 75 minutes.

Give the album enough attention and really get to know the songs. At the first hearing, it will sound like difficult music, but this five-headed band made a great album.

Conclusion

(Sic)Monic brought metal to a new dimension. With their skilled musicians, they are ready to continue in this line and upgrade Heavy Metal to a new genre.
